Visiting us
The museum is situated in one of the oldest districts of Auckland,
Howick, 2 or 3 minutes drive from the Howick Shopping Centre. PHTM
is situated near the intersection of Elliot Street and Moore Street.
Please see the Polish Flag flying (white and red) and red and white
street signage.
Free parking is available in the Museum grounds.Coach tours also
can park in this area. The Museum consists of two levels, The Upper
and Lower Galleries. The Lower Gallery also contains the Library
and has facilities to screen movies and documentaries (up to 50
visitors) and houses part of the museum collection, but the main
collection is in the Upper Gallery.We do not have a lift but you
have to deal with only a dozen stairs.
Museum Tours
The Museum welcomes individual visitors and also group bookings.
For groups we have prepared a special programme which includes an
introduction, a screening of the "Poles Apart" documentary
- the story of the First Polish Refugees to New Zealand (60min)
and then a look around the Upper and Lower Galleries.
Please allow 2.5 hours to enjoy your visit. We can also serve morning
or afternoon tea and coffee. Costs for groups per head visit 5.00
tea and coffee NZ $ 2 extra. Costs for individuals is entry by donation.
Sunday Programme
Please contact us for the Sunday Programme, this is an ever changing
programme and includes family days to celebrate Easter and Christmas,
workshops in traditional paper craft called Wycinanki, plus the
Sunday Winter Film Programme. Most events start at 2pm. Please call
to make an enquiry for the Sunday activity.
